Denying the Demonic

In March of last year as the coronavirus panic was starting, I wrote a somewhat flippant article saying that the obsession with buying and hoarding toilet paper was the people’s vaccine.  My point was simple: excrement and death have long been associated in cultural history and in the Western imagination with the evil devil, Satan, the Lord of the underworld, the Trickster, the Grand Master who rules the pit of smelly death, the place below where bodies go.

The psychoanalytic literature is full of examples of death anxiety revealed in anal dreams of shit-filled overflowing toilets and people pissing in their pants.  Ernest Becker put it simply in The Denial of Death:

No mistake – the turd is mankind’s real threat because it reminds people of death.

The theological literature is also full of warnings about the devil’s wiles.  So too the Western classics from Aeschylus to Melville. The demonic has an ancient pedigree and has various names. Rational people tend to dismiss all this as superstitious nonsense.  This is hubris.  The Furies always exact their revenge when their existence is denied.  For they are part of ourselves, not alien beings, as the tragedy of human history has shown us time and again.

Since excremental visions and the fear of death haunt humans – the skull at the banquet as William James put it – the perfect symbol of protection is toilet paper that will keep you safe and clean and free of any reminder of the fear of death running through a panicked world.  It’s a magic trick of course, an unconscious way of thinking you are protecting yourself; a form of self-hypnosis.

One year later, magical thinking has taken a different form and my earlier flippancy has turned darker. You can’t hoard today’s toilet paper but you can get them: RNA inoculations, misnamed vaccines. People are lined up for them now as they are being told incessantly to “get your shot.”  They are worse than toilet paper. At least toilet paper serves a practical function.  Real vaccines, as the word’s etymology – Latin, vaccinus, from cows, the cowpox virus vaccine first used by British physician Edward Jenner in 1800 to prevent smallpox – involve the use of a small amount of a virus.  The RNA inoculations are not vaccines.  To say they are is bullshit and has nothing to do with cows. To call them vaccines is linguistic mind control.

These experimental inoculations do not prevent the vaccinated from getting infected with the “virus” nor do they prevent transmission of the alleged virus. When they were approved recently by the FDA that was made clear.  The FDA issued Emergency Use Authorizations (EUAs) for these inoculations only under the proviso that they may make an infection less severe.  Yet millions have obediently taken a shot that doesn’t do what they think it does.  What does that tell us?

Hundreds of millions of people have taken an injection that allows a bio-reactive “gene-therapy” molecule to be injected into their bodies because of fear, ignorance, and a refusal to consider that the people who are promoting this are evil and have ulterior motives.  Not that they mean well, but that they are evil and have evil intentions.  Does this sound too extreme?  Radically evil?  Come on!

So what drives the refusal to consider that demonic forces are at work with the corona crisis?

Why do the same people who get vaccinated believe that a PCR test that can’t, according to its inventor Kary Mullis, test for this so-called virus, believe in the fake numbers of positive “cases”?  Do these people even know if the virus has ever been isolated?

Such credulity is an act of faith, not science or confirmed fact.

Is it just the fear of death that drives such thinking?

Or is it something deeper than ignorance and propaganda that drives this incredulous belief?

If you want facts, I will not provide them here. Despite the good intentions of people who still think facts matter, I don’t think most people are persuaded by facts anymore. But such facts are readily available from excellent alternative media publications.  Global Research’s Michel Chossudovsky has released, free of charge, his comprehensive E-Book: The 2020-21 Worldwide Corona Crisis: Destroying Civil Society, Engineered Economic Depression, Global Coup D’Etat, and the “Great Reset.”  It’s a good place to start if facts and analysis are what you are after.  Or go to Robert Kennedy, Jr.’s Childrens Health Defense, Off-Guardian, Dissident Voice, Global Research, among numerous others.

Perhaps you think these sites are right-wing propaganda because many articles they publish can also be read or heard at some conservative media. If so, you need to start thinking rather than reacting. The entire mainstream political/media spectrum is right-wing, if you wish to use useless terms such as Left/Right.  I have spent my entire life being accused of being a left-wing nut, but now I am being told I am a right-wing nut even though my writing appears in many leftist publications. Perhaps my accusers don’t know which way the screw turns or the nut loosens.  Being uptight and frightened doesn’t help.

I am interested in asking why so many people can’t accept that radical evil is real.  Is that a right-wing question?  Of course not.  It’s a human question that has been asked down through the ages.

I do think we are today in the grip of radical evil, demonic forces. The refusal to see and accept this is not new.  As the eminent theologian, David Ray Griffin, has argued, the American Empire, with its quest for world domination and its long and ongoing slaughters at home and abroad, is clearly demonic; it is driven by the forces of death symbolized by Satan.

I have spent many years trying to understand why so many good people have refused to see and accept this and have needed to ply a middle course over many decades. The safe path. Believing in the benevolence of their rulers.  When I say radical evil, I mean it in the deepest spiritual sense.  A religious sense, if you prefer.  But by religious I don’t mean institutional religions since so many of the institutional religions are complicit in the evil.

It has long been easy for Americans to accept the demonic nature of foreign leaders such as Hitler, Stalin, or Mao.  Easy, also, to accept the government’s attribution of such names as the “new Hitler” to any foreign leader it wishes to kill and overthrow.  But to consider their own political leaders as demonic is near impossible.

So let me begin with a few reminders.

The U.S. destruction of Iraq and the mass killings of Iraqis under George W. Bush beginning in 2003.  Many will say it was illegal, unjust, carried out under false pretenses, etc.  But who will say it was pure evil?

Who will say that Barack Obama’s annihilation of Libya was radical evil?

Who will say the atomic destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the firebombing of Tokyo and so many Japanese cities that killed hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians was radical evil?

Who will say the U.S. war against Syria is demonic evil?

Who will say the killing of millions of Vietnamese was radical evil?

Who will say the insider attacks of September 11, 2001 were demonic evil?

Who will say slavery, the genocide of native people, the secret medical experiments on the vulnerable, the CIA mind control experiments, the coups engineered throughout the world resulting in the mass murder of millions – who will say these are evil in the deepest sense?

Who will say the U.S. security state’s assassinations of JFK, Malcolm X, MLK, Jr., Robert Kennedy, Fred Hampton, et al. were radical evil?

Who will say the trillions spent on nuclear weapons and the willingness to use them to annihilate the human race is not the ultimate in radical evil?

This list could extend down the page endlessly.  Only someone devoid of all historical sense could conclude that the U.S. has not been in the grip of demonic forces for a long time.

If you can do addition, you will find the totals staggering.  They are overwhelming in their implications.

But to accept this history as radically evil in intent and not just in its consequences are two different things.  I think so many find it so hard to admit that their leaders have intentionally done and do demonic deeds for two reasons.  First, to do so implicates those who have supported these people or have not opposed them. It means they have accepted such radical evil and bear responsibility.  It elicits feelings of guilt. Secondly, to believe that one’s own leaders are evil is next to impossible for many to accept because it suggests that the rational façade of society is a cover for sinister forces and that they live in a society of lies so vast they the best option is to make believe it just isn’t so.  Even when one can accept that evil deeds were committed in the past, even some perhaps intentionally, the tendency is to say “that was then, but things are different now.” Grasping the present when you are in it is not only difficult but often disturbing for it involves us.

So if I am correct and most Americans cannot accept that their leaders have intentionally done radically evil things, then it follows that to even consider questioning the intentions of the authorities regarding the current corona crisis needs to be self-censored.  Additionally, as we all know, the authorities have undertaken a vast censorship operation so people cannot hear dissenting voices of those who have now been officially branded as domestic terrorists. The self-censorship and the official work in tandem.

There is so much information available that shows that the authorities at the World Health Organization, the CDC, The World Economic Forum, Big Pharma, governments throughout the world, etc. have gamed this crisis beforehand, have manipulated the numbers, lied, have conducted a massive fear propaganda campaign via their media mouthpieces, have imposed cruel lockdowns that have further enriched the wealthiest and economically and psychologically devastated vast numbers, etc.  Little research is needed to see this, to understand that Big Pharma is, as Dr. Peter Gøtzsche documented eight years ago in Deadly Medicines and Organized Crime: How Big Pharma Has Corrupted Healthcare, a world-wide criminal enterprise.  It takes but a few minutes to see that the pharmaceutical companies who have been given emergency authorization for these untested experimental non-vaccine “vaccines” have paid out billions of dollars to settle criminal and civil allegations.

It is an open secret that the WHO, the Gates Foundation, the WEF led by Klaus Schwab, and an interlocking international group of conspirators have plans for what they call The Great Reset, a strategy to use  the COVID-19 crisis to push their agenda to create a world of cyborgs living in cyberspace where artificial intelligence replaces people and human biology is wedded to technology under the control of the elites.  They have made it very clear that there are too many people on this planet and billions must die.  Details are readily available of this open conspiracy to create a transhuman world.

Is this not radical evil?  Demonic?

Let me end with an analogy.  There is another organized crime outfit that can only be called demonic – The Central Intelligence Agency.  One of its legendary officers was James Jesus Angleton, chief of Counterintelligence from 1954 until 1975.  He was a close associate of Allen Dulles, the longest serving director of the CIA.  Both men were deeply involved in many evil deeds, including bringing Nazi doctors and scientists into the U.S. to do the CIA’s dirty work, including mind control, bioweapons research, etc.  The stuff they did for Hitler.  As reported by David Talbot in The Devil’s Chessboard: Allen Dulles, the CIA, and the Rise of America’s Secret Government, when the staunch Catholic Angleton was on his deathbed, he gave an interviews to visiting journalists, including Joseph Trento.  He confessed:

He had not been serving God, after all, when he followed Allen Dulles.  He had been on a satanic quest….’Fundamentally, the founding fathers of U.S. intelligence were liars,’ he told Trento in an emotionless voice.  ‘The better you lied and the more you betrayed, the more likely you would be promoted…. Outside this duplicity, the only thing they had in common was a desire for absolute power.  I did things that, looking back on my life, I regret.  But I was part of it and loved being in it.’  He invoked the names of the high eminences who had run the CIA in his day – Dulles, Helms, Wisner.  These men were ‘the grand masters,’ he said.  ‘If you were in a room with them, you were in a room full of people that you had to believe would deservedly end up in hell.’  Angleton took another slow sip from his steaming cup.  ‘I guess I will see them there soon.’

Until we recognize the demonic nature of the hell we are now in, we too will be lost.  We are fighting for our lives and the spiritual salvation of the world.  Do not succumb to the siren songs of these fathers of lies.

Resist.

  1. It is my firm belief that AT LEAST 50% of the human beings living on Mother Earth right now are some combination of narcissists, sociopaths, and psycopaths – with the most severe manifestations residing “at the top of the food chain”.

If that’s not the personification of evil, I don’t know what is.

  2. Dear Ed, Thank you so much for your remarkable article.
    Evil’s deeds are plain.
Fear, suffering, death and sorrow have covered the face of the earth.
We refuse to be Evil’s second hand consciousness.
We show even what we can’t say.
We resist second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour by, day by day, month by month, year by year. Yes.
Here is a link related to resisting/living:

    1. Hello Newton… it has been suggested that if we continue to disrupt nature, natural occurrences, disrupt smaller lifeforms, organism’s, there could very well be mutations, new life forms arising that could also be viruses. ( I don’t think this is how the present covid insanity started) The point is, we should not be living how we live. It’s insane, it’s upside down and inside out. (Don’t you like my technical, scientific terms?) Humans are part of the natural environment with other living things. Soil is a living thing. How can digging the guts out of Mother Earth be helpful to anything? Oh yes, the capitalists see this as profitable even visionary to destroy, yet call this destruction, development or progress! Some people are convinced that when we went from a Female god to a Male god is the beginning of this insanity that we experience, this barbarism, violence of all types. We are not honoring that natural environment we are part of and dependent upon. This is the very shallow explanation about how we live like backwards morons! The corporate ladder states the closer you get to the CEO, the president, the closer you are to ‘this’ god…It’s all crap and very destructive and stated in so many ways!

  3. My brother and I were writing back and forth about this article when I told him the story about learning how to wipe my ass with my hand in a bus station in Turkey. A bunch of stalls lined up with porcelaine holes and places to put your feet. No toilet paper, but a spigot and a bar of soap. Pretty simple and clean.
He came back with one about having been invited on a private yacht for a corporate cruise. My brother asked the owner how he had come to have such a big boat. The guy said he started out as a simple plumber and because people don’t like putting their hands in the toilet, he would take their money and wash his hands.

  4. As should be patently obvious to all, we live in a plutocracy, what Bellamy called “the rule of the rich,” who have achieved almost total control of government and media. That should be the starting point for all of our social and political commentary, this deeply-entrenched reality currently beyond our power to alter, to even dream of altering at this juncture, absent some sort of intervention by a power higher than the system (which may or may not be a fruitful way to think about Covid but is clearly a fruitful way to think about the ongoing ecocide encompassed by “climate change”). The players in our plutocratic system may be psychopaths on the individual level, but it’s the system that has bred them and elevated them. Remove a particular player and innumerable others are waiting in line to take his or her place. And truth be told, we who call out and condemn the plutocratic system and those it breeds and elevates are ourselves a part of the system, participate in it, benefit from it, are utterly dependent upon it, however much we might wish it were otherwise. Two thousand years ago, we were warned in the clearest possible terms that self-righteousness was a sin, a subtle and sinister one because it can infect not only the venal but the virtuous. It’s a lesson we have yet to learn, and our words about the plutocratic system and its players, no matter how accurate and insightful, are the weaker for it. Genuine prophets may speak in the most harsh and incisive terms, call out evil not only with courage but with wild abandon, but they always include themselves in their condemnation. This is what gives the power of integrity, the appeal of honesty, the depth of self-awareness, to their prophetic speech.

    1. Newton,
Obviously you mean me; that I should have condemned myself as well as those who commit vast evil deeds because I live in the USA and am therefore guilty as part of the system. I guess not having spent my adult life living a certain way and consistently having opposed these policies is not enough. You want me to declare myself guilty for what I never assented to. Nor do you know of any price I may have paid for my dissidence. Sorry for lacking integrity and self-awareness. It’s like saying all Germans were responsible for Hitler, even those who opposed him tooth and nail. Pax, Ed

      1. No, Ed, I wasn’t speaking to you but reacting to some of the comments on this thread, comments similar to others I’ve increasingly come across here and elsewhere. I visit your blog daily, as I devoured your recent, highly-revealing book, because you have always spoken as one who recognizes the pervasive presence of evil…both outside us and inside us. Which doesn’t mean we don’t call out evil, actually adds additional responsibility and incentive to do so. But it does affect how we call it out and, in turn, who might hear our voices. What have we allowed this pandemic to do to our ability to communicate, both to speak and to hear (and I ask myself this question)? A year ago, I strongly suspect–hell, I know–you would have taken no issue with the thrust of my comment, which merely gives voice to principles long part of the prophetic tradition in which you stand. Peace be also with you, my friend.

    2. Newton,
Whatever the relative culpability of persons enmeshed in the system by being born into it (and I think there is at least a responsibility for people who are aware of its nature to speak out, resist, and/or unplug), a couple of ideas you seem to be presenting seem to me to be questionable: the idea that the “pandemic” represents or may represent (or is fruitful to think of as) something outside or above the system and the controllers of it, and the idea that it is fruitful to think of “climate change” as something also caused by an outside intervention.
Of course, I may be mistaking your intent, but both of these concepts are products of the system and the narrative it has created. Based even on the overblown statistics of what has happened over the past year of lock-down madness, no one would know a pandemic is happening except from the media, and the major negative effects have come from the lockstep solutions imposed by the world misleaders. And while certainly crony capitalism and the highly centralized and industrialized society it has created has and is causing very negative effects on the environment, it is those very institutions which have directed, by judicious application of money and the placing of their people in positions of influence, the environmental movement to focus on “climate change” as the boogeyman in order to extract yet more money and control from the populace while distracting attention away from the real harm that is being done. The natural cycles of the sun and solar system are the major determinants of the climates on the Earth (with the occasional intervention of large objects colliding with the planet), and they will continue to move independently of the will of the rulers of men. The idea that it is the private citizen who is responsible to do less and be less (and pay more) or else the planet will burn up is dear to the hearts of those who desire power, but there is no science to support it, unless you count the corrupted and agenda-driven science of the UN and its ilk.

      1. Not to debase this discussion with yet another climate mud fest, but turning climate into a binary hoax/ no hoax is yet another balkanization tactic.
“There is no science to support it… ”
“A 2010 survey of 1,372 climate researchers showed that “97-98% of the climate researchers most actively publishing in the field support the tenets of ACC [anthropogenic climate change] outlined by the intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
In 2012, James Powell updated Naomi Oreskes’ 2004 paper. Considering only peer-reviewed articles between 1991 and 2012, he looked at all the articles in the Web of Science with keywords of “global warming” or “global climate change.” Having located 13,950 articles, he found that “24 of the 13,950 articles, 0.17 percent or 1 in 581, clearly reject global warming or endorse a cause other than CO2 emissions for observed warming.” In short, 99.8 percent of the scientists who have published peer-reviewed articles say that CO2-caused global warming is real.” David Ray Griffin, Unprecedented, 173.

        1. David Ray Griffin has been painstakingly and courageously right about the World Trade Center Atrocity, as have the investigative reporters at Grayzone been painstakingly and courageously right about American imperialism. The Grayzone website contains some 70 reports which view the pandemic as a genuine and serious threat. I’m curious to know whether Dr. Griffin has made any public statements about the pandemic. Is anyone aware of any?

          1. Not that I’m aware of, but that’s likely attributed to his old age. He last made an appearance with Richard Gage, Steven Jones and Niels Harrit last September 11. Jones was tripping over himself to turn the conversation to Covid, as a Covid9/11 scenario.
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knlSvx6-zck
After his stroke a few years back, DRG seems to have stepped out of the limelight. However, I would not be surprised at all if he agreed with Niels Harrit’s recent article on OffG:
            https://off-guardian.org/2021/03/27/making-something-out-of-nothing-pcr-tests-ct-values-and-false-positives/

            1. My suspicion is that Dr. Griffin would view Covid denial in much the same manner he views climate change denial. Despite his age and state of health, perhaps he’ll say something to prove me right or wrong. His is a voice I so highly respect and trust, as do many others.

              1. Certain terms are always weaponized around ideas and events about which the government wants to limit the Overton window. For the false flag of 2001, it was “Truthers”. For the JFK assassination it was “conspiracy theories” (used in many other cases since then). For global warming aka climate change, it is “denial” and the same for the Covid. The idea is to have a simple term which dismisses dissent and ends the discussion without dealing with the facts around it. I recommend doing your own research rather than trusting any one authority figure who has been right on other issues. We are surrounded by lies and disinformation, and no one is exempt from falling for some aspect of it.

        2. I read this book several years ago, and I found it to be enlightening regarding the nature of the UN IPCC:
          https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7622411-the-hockey-stick-illusion
If you look into those claims of consensus among scientists about global warming you will find that most of those papers did not deal with the subject of catastrophic anthropogenic global warming, and that many of the scientists included do not agree that man made CO2 is going to cause the earth to get warmer or that any such warming would be a bad thing. They were not consulted, and the bar was set very low for inclusion in that study as compared with the summary statements made regarding it. One should be suspicious when anyone says that 99.8% of scientists agree on anything, especially anything which cannot be proven or disproved by experiment. With all due respect to David Ray Griffin, he needs to look closer at this issue if he is going to make public statements about it. The UN is a political organization and has political goals. The “science” which comes out of it will always further those goals.

          1. “[DRG] needs to look closer at this issue if he is going to make public statements about it.”
well he wrote a 500-pg book about it…

            1. I have just ordered Unprecedented from the local library system. They only have one copy, so I think they are not overly fond of DRG for his writing on the events of 2001. I’ll check it out and see how compelling an argument he makes.
I just happen to be at the place in Seeking Truth in a Country of Lies which deals with his writing about the false flag, so it makes sense to see what he has to say about this other subject.

        3. If anyone is interested in reading (mostly) dissenting opinions about global warming, this Anthony Watts website contains daily articles and comments on the subject by a number of sources:
          https://wattsupwiththat.com/
Even NASA and NOAA admit that we are entering a Grand Solar Minimum, though they will continue to downplay the effects vs. CO2 as long as possible.

    3. I think I have to clarify my comment below, re: evil. My comment was mostly personal–at the beginning of the whole covidian BS: masks, lockdowns, etc., I almost couldn’t walk around without wanting to beat the crap out of someone. I had to turn back on myself because that anger wasn’t letting me think. Ed’s articles (and book), to me, come from a place of love, not hate. Love can include anger. Like Jesus with the money changers in the temple. But I was hating ordinary people without even knowing them, their fears, how they’d been terrorized into this response. It was misdirected aggression and it was making me crazy. that’s why the Dostoyevsky quote hit me so hard.
      AND…
I absolutely did NOT mean the tired “we’re all in this together.” The ruling class are NOT like the rest of us, and they absolutely were NOT afraid of the virus. Just read Forbes—yacht parties and luxury travel never diminished. Hedge funds bought up thousands of destroyed small businesses. While millions fall into poverty, (everyone knows this, i’m sick of repeating it) the billionaires increase their wealth by trillions. So I don’t see how any kind of class analysis can ignore that. Or any analysis of evil, while we’re at it.
I meant my toxic anger wasn’t letting me see anything clear. That’s all

  5. “Until we recognize the demonic nature of the hell we are now in, we too will be lost. We are fighting for our lives and the spiritual salvation of the world. Do not succumb to the siren songs of these fathers of lies.
    Resist.”
You are right. Demonic evil is fighting for control of the world. I believe more people are waking up to this fact.
Really appreciated your insights. Hope you will write more about it. Thanks.

  6. Tremendous treatise Edward! You implore people to resist, but are a bit vague about how.
I think you have come pretty close to pinpointing where the “evil” lies. It is in the UNION (USA). If we break up America into its many parts, there are a great many very good people in each part and we would end the impunity which is enabled by the power wielded by this monolith. Each State would remain exactly the same as it is today but without the destructive power of the Union.

  7. I also wanted to take the opportunity to say I am enjoying my copy of Seeking Truth in a Country of Lies. I started it on vacation a few weeks ago, then went back to finishing up Underworld, by Don DeLillo – recommended some time ago by Ed. I enjoyed Underworld as well, but it is more of a subtle suggestion whereas Seeking Truth is a punch in the face. At least, it could be if you are seeing a lot of this information for the first time. I am not yet 100 pages in, but already it fills some gaps in my knowledge of who Ed Curtin is and how he arrived where he is as a truth teller. At the heart of his work is the instinct and desire for peace, and the understanding that this country has been moved in a direction opposed to the wishes of its people by deceptions piled upon deceptions. His work has been reviewed by persons much more qualified than I, but just know that it is much appreciated.

    1. Hi Eddy and Everyone. It’s interesting to see the attention the word evil is getting. Not long ago I watched a video. The man stated while talking about this nation: he said, “there is stupid, however, we are a special kind of stupid!” I thought this description is both accurate as well as a bit amusing. I am baffled over why anyone would believe anything our government and any of its agencies would say about anything! 500 years of insanity and still going and many people STILL legitimize this condition !

  8. I’m usually not on the internet much after Friday afternoon until Monday morning, so I come late to articles published late on Friday (meaning after I go through my weekday reading list ). I’ve been looking forward to your next piece, and this one does not disappoint.
I agree that evil is the proper word for the motives and nature of those interlocking entities which are moving the official narratives. It has seemed to me for some time now that everything that happens on the world stage is much more understandable in the light of an overarching depopulation agenda.
It is not difficult to verify the existence of this agenda. Quotes by major players in “philanthropy” and world governance are obvious references to this. In the early 20th century, they seemed to be much more forthcoming about the idea that some people are just more worthy of life than others. Unfortunately, such ideas were also put forward by those chosen as the scapegoats for the wars, and so eugenics had to be obfuscated as population control or social management.
But the key idea is that it is ok to separate yourself and your family from the masses of people, who are defectives, and that the best thing for humanity is what is best for you and your sort, regardless of the outcome for defectives. It is ok for some people to assume the authority to apply forced sterilization or more immediate remedies to the defectives in order to improve the gene pool. (It is the hubris of science become political that it has absolute answers to the question of how to accomplish such.)
From a religious standpoint, they are evil because they elevate themselves to the status of gods, desiring to usurp the power of God over the people. This is easily accomplished among those who believe they and their families succeed because of superior genes, not because of the fortune of place and opportunity or ruthlessness.
Once you have decided that you are another rank of being, above the average human, it is quite natural to treat them as cattle. Meanwhile, the social institutions have been transformed over time by the same people to encourage the common people to behave as cattle, and so to reinforce the concept that they are indeed inferior beings – easily led and easily corrupted, seeking only “the lesser of two evils”.

  9. Thanks for taking me deeper down a rabbit hole…In the words of the Smashing Pumpkins, “Despite all my rage Im still just a rat in a cage”

  10. Regarding “Little research is needed to see this, to understand that Big Pharma is, as Dr Peter Gøtzsche documented eight years ago in Deadly Medicines and Organized Crime: How Big Pharma Has Corrupted Healthcare, a worldwide criminal enterprise.”

A more accurate representation of Gøtzsche, denoting RADICAL evil in power, is that he does not JUST implicate Big Pharma as a “worldwide criminal enterprise” but the medical allopathy (official medicine) in general.

As an example, he has been a very prolific opponent of routine mammography. Gotzsche’s book “Mammography Screening: Truth, Lies and Controversy” along with the book “The Mammogram Myth” by Rolf Hefti are the only two really comprehensive, complementary, independent works on the profound fraud of mammography.

This general stance of Gøtzsche explains his political ejection from Cochrane.

    1. It’s interesting that you should bring up mammography. I’ve never had one and never will. Radiation CAUSES cancer. DUH!

For any woman who’s unsure about “breast cancer screening” – especially of the early kind – I suggest she first read “Goddesses Never Age” by Dr. Christiane Northrup, M.D. She talks about how small blips (I’m paraphrasing) can be reported as early signs of breast cancer when they in fact are things that the body will repair themselves. Many times. She is a doctor of women’s medicine so she knows her shit and backs it up with statistics.

My closest girlfriend was diagnosed with “early stages” of breast cancer and underwent radiation therapy to “cure her”. I haven’t the heart to ask her if her yearly mammograms – which she took religiously – may have played some part in the diagnosis. We may never know and I pray that she is free and clear of cancer.

I’m still not getting a mammogram. Not getting the gene-therapy for “The Jinn” (as I call COVID-19) either. My gut says “Fuck them and fuck that.”

  11. I realized that I made some typos and grammar mistakes in my comments, because I was tired when I wrote my comment. Typo – Divide Grammar Are, not our.

  12. It has been a while since I have on Ed’s site. So I am going to make this simple. There is no right or left. Evil just wants to eliminate humanity. It wants to eliminate most of the world’s population and it doesn’t want us to be self sufficient. Evil doesn’t want us to unite in unity so Evil keeps us fighting against each other. How better to defeat your enemy by divid and conquer. Satan wants to destroy humanity. He has managed to divide us. Now the question is our we going to let Evil conquer humanity?

    1. Marianne,
How refreshing to finally find someone who really understands what is going on in this world. I have yet to find one who has hit the nail on the head as well as you have. i.e. “SATAN WANTS TO DESTROY HUMANITY.”
That is exactly what he is trying to do. I could write a book about this but probably no-one would read it.
I think that most people who claim to believe in God don’t have the slightest understanding of Satan or what his desire is. Jesus tells those who have the ears to hear it that there are two things Satan will do. His desires are to LIE and to MURDER. Jn8:44. He has his people who are just as faithful to him as God’s Elect Christians are to Him. They do the work for him and by their works we will know who they are.
One cannot mix Good with Evil any more than they can mix Oil with Water, Truth with Lies, or Light with Darkness.
If one were to write down all the ways that Satan can Lie and Murder would there be enough paper to contain them? Scripture does not go into all of this because it is not necessary. God gave His people common sense and reasoning to figure out what His message to them is. Scripture has many warnings about being careful not to be deceived.
Satan has no Plan to take over the world and rule it as his own personal Kingdom. Our Lord Christ said that Satan knows that he has but a short time. He also knows what the end result will be. But being the liar he is, he is able to convince those he chooses to do his dirty work that they can be as kings and gods and rule the world as they wish. He is the supreme liar.
But imagine if he were to have it his way what would happen. When he had murdered everyone and there was no-one left to murder he would kill himself. He will not stop murdering, even his own. There is no love in him so whom would he want to spare and why? He hates God and everything He has created so his desire is to destroy it all.
It will never happen but we can be sure that he will go as far as God allows him to go.
In regards to your question about letting Evil conquer humanity. We cannot stop that from happening. I think you know what I mean. Without God we wouldn’t even be here. With God, if it were His will, we would surly do it. But His Kingdom is not of this world so that will not happen. And unless He stops Satan there would be NO FLESH SAVED. Our faith and trust should be that He will stop it for the Elect’s sake.
I’ve said enough. Probably too much.

  13. Thank god for covid vaccines…
Now I can go back to buying & smoking my cigarettes & using highly-processed tobacco products in safety, without fear of infection by the unvaccinated lepers.
And/or getting back to driving maximum mileage in my car, as it spews out the magnetites which are a product of combustion, and linked to numerous detrimental health consequences (like MS, Parkinsons, Alzheimers, etc.).
And/or getting back to eating highly-processed fast & junk foods, laden with more synthetic ingredients and chemicals than healthful grains, secondary metabolites, and wholesome ingredients, wholesome & healthful ingredients necessary to feed the microbes essential for all life, and natural health.
And/or getting back to normal days on the corporate job, sitting on my fat ass, largely devoiding myself of exercise, in my artificially lit office, breathing stale & polluted air, and countless other indoor pollutants (like cleaning chemicals, paints, etc.).

In an interesting tie-in to this article, regarding human excrement, one should take note that rapidly increasing amounts of sewage sludge are being applied to farm, crop & pasture lands, laden not only with human excrement, but also with an abundance of toxic and harmful substances, like hormones, antibiotics (which not only don’t break-down quickly, but also destroy the beneficial microbes necessary for natural health), “forever” chemicals like PFOA’s and others, industrial chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and countless other harmful substances that are flushed down drains, and which aren’t tested for in that sludge.

Illegal to dump into oceans, too expensive for corporate America (controlled by those billionaires, via their large investment banks) to dispose in landfills, but readily applied to crops.
Even most “lower-order” animals & insects work diligently to remove their wastes from their habitats.

    You are what you eat.

Numerous Historians, Scientists, Researchers, and others have noted and provided ample evidence to suggest declining plant, animal & human nutrition greatly exacerbated the Black Plague of the Middle Ages, as those plants, animals and humans lacked the means to develop stronger natural immune systems.
Interestingly, sewage sludge, aka “Night Soils”, were similarly applied in great quantity to farm, crop & pasture lands during those Middle Ages.

We live in an age not only where our foodstuff is devoid of the things required for natural health (natural vitamins, natural antibiotics, both of which are products of microbes & enzymes, natural secondary metabolites, aka phytochemicals, and other beneficial compounds), but also where our supplemental vitamins (used to “enrich” those depleted foods) are synthesized by industrial wastes & byproducts.
And our synthesized antibiotics are incapable of adjusting to the natural evolutions/mutations of harmful pathogens, as is performed by/in Nature.
Leading to vastly increasing instances of synthetic antibiotic resistance.
Meaning less capabilities to ward off diseases naturally.

Even the feeds of most farm animals are laced with synthetic antibiotics, in response to poor quality feeds, grazing lands, and the massive stresses of tightly-packed quarters & lack of exercise.

Petrarch wrote of what he saw as the Dark Ages of his time during the Middle Ages.
And was vastly criticized of that observation by the powers that be during his age.
He witnessed and observed a massive loss of the classical knowledge of the “ancients” of the past, supplanted largely by superstition and greed of the almighty Church.
The Scholastic Age of that period was built largely on PR & propaganda, rather than genuine knowledge, logic, reason, etc.

Some 50%-80% of all pharmaceuticals globally are derived from, or based on (but now largely synthesized) phytochemicals (aka secondary metabolites, like polyphenols, flavonoids, lignans, terpenes, etc.), things that are largely denounced by the same corporate medical and pharmaceutical industry that uses them, but can’t profit from them without those synthetic intellectual property considerations.
Leading to vast losses of knowledge of the benefits of those natural compounds.
Hippocrates, the “Father of modern medicine” promulgated the knowledge of “let food be thy medicine, and medicine thy food”.
Natural herbs, bitters, spices, plants, etc. were not only used to enhance foods, but served to support natural health.

We are now living in the Dark Ages of the 21st century.
Vast losses of knowledge of the past.

Guaranteed the mindless masses of the Dark Ages of the Middle Ages were completely ignorant of their vast ignorance.
Ditto for the mindless masses of today.

  14. People are scared to death of the truth, so they deny it, like death. Truth sets you free, re ignites your heart, brings you closer to God. Embrace the good and the light in a world full of evil.

  15. Speaking of cancel culture . . . “What is the difference between leftists and cannibals? Cannibals don’t eat their friends.” attributed to Lyndon Johnson

  16. Another good column. Don’t let the criticism get you down. There are many who pretend they are left ,but are anything but. Don’t waste your time on them.
The original critics of the Warren report were people like Bertrand Russell and M.S.Aroni.

    1. Absolutely, Marty.

I also doubt that some of those who do proclaim themselves marxist have even read any Marx. And what flavor of marxism? Gramsci? Althusser? Critical Theory?

It is also useful to recall, as Karl Polanyi spends a chapter of «The Great Transformation» (at least … this is from memory) discussing, how early Marxists framed their analysis conspiratorially … what is sometimes referred to as “vulgar Marxism.” (Not that I would propose a simple return to such a way of looking at things.)

But if recognizing the reality of conspiracies and engaging in class analysis are mutually exclusive, then writers like Michael Parenti I guess belong in some theoretical bestiary.

In a similar vein: in the first chapter of _The Power Elite_, C. Wright Mills characterizes the “no conspiracies” version of history as one which attributes everything to “impersonal drift” (an concept probably adopted from the linguistic theory of Edward Sapir), and asserts: “To accept either view––of all history as conspiracy or of all history as drift––is to relax the effort to understand the facts of power and the ways of the powerful.” [27]

      1. Thank you. C.Wright Mills influenced my early thinking , maybe I’ll get go to it again.

  17. “I have spent my entire life being accused of being a left-wing nut, but now I am being told I am a right-wing nut even though my writing appears in many leftist publications. Perhaps my accusers don’t know which way the screw turns or the nut loosens. Being uptight and frightened doesn’t help.”

You don’t seem to get that you are a conspiracy theorist. As for being a left-wing nut, the real question is your utter lack of familiarity with a Marxist class analysis. Off-Guardian has pretty much evolved into a wing of the Trumpist right, following its propaganda on COVID-19. By writing for it, you are helping to shore up Tucker Carlson and all the other nut-jobs that helped make it possible for a half-million Americans to die from the illness. It could have been a much lower number if Trump hadn’t been saying the same thing as the dingbats who put out Off-Guardian. “It was just a cold…” “Masks don’t work…” “Our liberties are being suppressed…” Blah-blah-blah. Do you think that your articles don’t line up with the far right? Then, you need to develop a sense of self-awareness that is typically absent in tenured professors.

    1. I, too, think that Ed and some others on the more radical left have gotten this pandemic wrong. A long string of deep state/mass media deceptions from the killing of JFK to and through the World Center Atrocity created a comfortable framework in which the pandemic was understandably viewed, at least at first, as just the latest plutocratic plot to entrench and expand their interests. And there was indeed evidence that could be marshalled in this direction. At some point in the pandemic’s progress, however, it should have become apparent that we were dealing with a real phenomenon that threatened the entire world including the plutocrats, who while exploiting the pandemic to get ever more obscenely rich and powerful, were also scared shitless on a personal level that they too (or their loved ones) could get sick and die. That said, I think you’re being disrespectful to a man who has stuck his neck out for a lifetime in telling us the truth (as he saw it) about the machinations of entrenched evil in our midst, so often doing its dirty work behind the scenes. With regard to the Off-Guardian, you are engaging promiscuously in guilt by association, a favorite way in which the left has eaten its own since its inception. The real tragedy here IMHO is that the pandemic and the neoliberal destabilization and paralysis it has brought (and will likely continue to bring) may well offer a genuine revolutionary/evolutionary opening, one which the marginalized radical left could never have generated on its own. Thus many who should be at the forefront of “seizing the time” are instead missing it entirely and unwittingly lending credence to reactionary forces, who want nothing more than a speedy end to the pandemic so that we can return, pedal to the metal, to exploitative and ecocidal neoliberal capitalism.

        1. Whether Covid19 came naturally from a bat or escaped from a bio engineering lab is a question yet to be answered definitively and thus cries out for further investigation. But whatever the answer, it’s largely irrelevant at this point to our dire global predicament. Jumping the gun from believing the virus was engineered to believing that it was intentionally released, if that’s what you’re implying, is precisely the kind of illogic I’m alluding to.

          1. Newton-

Please see the video by Dr. Ryan Cole. I posted a link to it in my first comment. Our “dire global predicament” could have been averted if Big Pharma’s push for vaccination hadn’t been their primary goal. Prophylactics and therapeutic cures were purposely ignored or denigrated. Many people died as a result.

            1. Newton-

Talking about racism as an aspect for an unnecessary vaccine is a bit off the point in my opinion. Anyone above or below the 35th parallel needs supplemental vitamin D in the fall and winter. Dark skinned folks are especially deficient, as are obese people and the elderly. That is the crux of the issue. Vitamin D is cheap. In my opinion the failure of Big Pharma shills and their MSM lackeys to educate the public in this regard is criminal behavior. There would have been no pandemic with proper education regarding what is necessary to maintain a healthy immune system. Unfortunately for big Pharma that is not a message that generates profit. Therefore the message is quashed and people die, especially dark skinned and elderly folk. Perhaps that was their goal?

              1. Newton-

It may not be as well known as you think. Just yesterday I was trading emails with a friend who spent years making money writing “white papers” for the medical industry, especially mRNA technology. I told him about taking vitamin D and Magnesium. He asked if I was taking it to improve my bone density. He knew nothing about its relationship to maintaining a healthy immune system. It would be interesting to know the percentage of folks who have any awareness of the connection.

    2. The “end-game” is the key.

Dee Snider (singer, Twisted Sister) quoted recently about “cancel culture”:

“It’s censorship. And censorship has changed quite a bit. I mean, you go to when I was in Washington testifying. By the way, it was a bipartisan effort — it was the Democrats and Republicans who were joined together in putting a leash on rock and roll. But it was definitely a conservative attitude — it was a more conservative attitude, wanting to censor music. Now censorship still exists, but it’s gone from the right more to the left. We’re in this P.C. [politically correct] world where we have to be careful about what we say and who we offend, and it’s a very odd thing.”

So the bottom line is still censorship but it’s being MARKETED differently. Still a pig wearing liptstick – and you can pretty much see that across the board with any issue today.

  18. I don’t know much about Karl Jung, but his idea of the shadow includes the notion that if you don’t recognize your own shadow, if you don’t develop “an imagination for evil” then you project it outward (as Sanjoy said above), and you remain innocent, but your very “innocence” (which is really just denial) enables the shadow, or the evil, to take hold in bigger ways. Paul Levy says it better than I just did:
“We still go on thinking that we are “simplex and not duplex,” to use Jung’s words. We thus imagine ourselves to be “innocuous, reasonable and humane.” We don’t deny that terrible things are happening, but since we regard ourselves as harmless, Jung points out, “it is always ‘the others’ who do them.” When we are not in touch with the potential evil that dwells within us, we project it outside of ourselves in a futile attempt to disown it, thereby falling prey to and unknowingly acting out in the external world the very evil that we are turning away from within ourselves. Evil thrives on our turning a blind eye towards it.” https://www.awakeninthedream.com/articles/carl-jung-imagination-evil
This isn’t to say that we shouldn’t put the billionaires etc on trial for crimes against humanity (they absolutely should be on trial) or that we can’t organize (oh except we can’t because everyone’s afraid to come out of the house), but I think it’s important to realize that each of us has a kind of totalitarian inside, and we need to understand that. Or we’ll never defeat the madness. That’s not at all a popular stance in a world view without shade (or shadow).
It reminds me of Father Zossima in _Brothers Karamazov_ who said something like (i’m paraphrasing) Everytime there’s a crime, tell yourself that YOU are responsible for that crime. That’s also not a popular stance because it’s seen as defeatism, or “acceptance”. But it isn’t.
Anyway, obviously your article resonated a lot–this is something I’ve been thinking about recently–calling evil what it is. But not thinking that I’m particularly innocent.

    1. Well said, Lorie. Whether inflected through Jung or Dostoevsky, or Sartre’s _mauvaise foi_, we are indeed all guilty. The very bad faith which lay unacknowledged, or better, purposely suppressed, in my own daily armchair criticism (perhaps whining is more precise), was one of the realizations that shook me to the core when reading «Seeking Truth». And yes, an examination of conscience is only the first step, as all lapsed Catholic atheists like myself know.

  19. Brilliant and powerful, even moving––everything I have come to expect since I discovered Ed’s writing. «Seeking Truth in a Country of Lies» was a real highlight of my pandemic year reading list.

I just wanted to address one particular thing Ed brings up in this essay: the way critics who once classified him as a left-wing nut now call him a right-wing nut.

This hits solidly home. It has long been for me a struggle to reconcile (at least for my dogmatic colleagues) my own progressive-to-radical views (if those labels truly denote anything, or ever did) with those I hold concerning the assassinations of the 60s, let alone the more recent instances of “pure evil” noted here. How, indeed, did claiming JFK was assassinated by the National Security State come to be a specifically “right-wing” conspiracy theory?

But this is nothing compared to how that label has been weaponized to shut down discussion of the pandemic among a broad sector of the populace.

I have been saying for some time now that this was, among other things, an ingenious ploy to get the “opposition” (the “so-called Left”, as Douglas Valentine would say) on board. You can’t really fool them too much any more with the threat of Islamic terrorism (though many of them seem to be lapping up the China/Russia b.s.). But a humanitarian crisis? Perfect! In the interest of humanity, we will simply look the other way when it comes to corporate malfeasance and profiteering, and totalitarian strictures, even censorship. (Don’t be distracted by conspiracies: we need to fight the system as a whole. That has to be one of the most hackneyed false oppositions in political and social science.)

And isn’t it funny how the “anti-science” shibboleth, once aimed at supporters of the megalithic fossil-fuel industry, is now aimed at critics of the megalithic pharmaceutical industry?

It has long been a goal of our intelligence community to build an “acceptable”, controllable Left. Seems like that goal has finally been achieved.

Allen Dulles is laughing his burning ass off in hell.

    1. Condolences from another former left-wing transformed to a right-wing nut. It’s really laughable once you stop crying.

      1. It is farcical indeed, if you step back away far enough. Unfortunately, myopia seems endemic to the political arena––at least that has been my experience.

  20. I’m trying to get into this but I’m not getting anywhere. What does it do for us to think of this regime as evil instead of criminal? At war crimes tribunals you don’t get hanged for evil. You don’t get nuked for evil. You… go to hell? I do not see these assholes shaking in their boots. Angleton’s just bragging.

They’re certainly unencumbered by ethical or moral structures. But to avoid the fundamental attribution error we ought to look for a circumstance that elicits that sort of misbehavior. And one jumps out at you right away. Impunity.

They do what they want because they can get away with it. In this case crime pays.

That’s the way the outside world sees this. Bolton, certainly one of the poster boys, carried out a massive neoSoviet obstruction campaign to keep the word impunity out of the relevant sections of the World Summit Outcome Document. He would have loved to substitute evil because that’s not a term of art. Impunity is. Arbitrary conduct is. Hostis humani generis is.

This government’s the enemy of everyone on earth. When we depose them and make a pyramid of their skulls, that will be why.

    1. Hi ab, I love your post. As an atheist I tend to agree with your premise:
“What does it do for us to think of this regime as evil instead of criminal?”
One answer, perhaps overly simple, is that the concept of “crime” is often created by criminals. The Gulag Archipelago has hundreds of stories of innocent civilians getting arrested by the police for “crimes” against the Soviet. They would then spend ten or twenty years getting worked to death in a labor camp for their “criminal” behavior.
It’s interesting that organized religion, for all its faults, at least offers meta-governmental view of morality. The American founding fathers recognized this and tried to create a government free *from* religion, not because they were atheist (although some were) but because they knew the dangers of ascribing moral authority to government.

    2. The problem with using the word criminal instead of evil is that it implies that we have “rule of law” that punishes criminals. In fact for the evil ones who have all the power, there is no justice; it’s JUST US. Raw power is all they react to or understand. Although the word “evil” has religious connotations for some, I believe it is more accurate. To be a criminal there has to be effective “rule of law” for them to violate. In fact for the truly powerful evil ones there is no effective “rule of law.” They will never face prosecution by the current system. My hope is that Karma is real, and they will engender their own punishment by the evil ways sometime soon. “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.”- MLK.

      1. I quite agree Skip. Sadly over the last 500+ years of the West’s rule over the entire planet, much of the absolute barbarity and genocide and plunder undertaken has all been completely – “legal” – rather than being considered – “criminal” except by those on the receiving end. I find that the concept of “evil” touches more closely the presence of an amoral abyss so vast that it can defend bringing about the “legal” deaths of a half-a-million Iraqi children as worth it – and then today claim concern for the welfare of Syrian children in order to justify yet another – “legal” – “humanitarian regime-change war” – while simultaneously facilitating the mass starvation of children in Yemen all in the same breath. The West is now basically a large interconnected criminal enterprise desperately attempting to retain power over the planet.

    3. Ah, there’s the nub, Skip & Andy. For most people socialist or leftward, law is crap because it reflects the system, the ownership of the means of production, &c. And US municipal law is certainly crap. Its purpose is to preserve impunity for the arbitrary power of the civil/military command structure (CIA and its domestic cutouts in police, military, and organized crime.)
      .
What’s new is, nuclear-armed great powers enjoying an actual, qualitative, missile gap, enforcing rule of law at gunpoint. That’s what you saw Russia do the US in Syria, ‘coercion to peace,’ and peace is the law. In Crimea, Russia quoted the law and enforced it and there was nothing that the USA could do about it (the relevant law being the ICJ’s advisory opinion of Kosovo.) These great powers have a name: Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations. That means rule of law (not to be confused with the US word salad “rules-based order,” which was dreamed up to evade legal justification.) The G-192, the G-77+China, they’re also committed to rule of law.
      .
Human rights law directly derived from the Charter has its own enforcement mechanism through treaty and charter bodies. The regime keeps Americans in the dark about it because they don’t want them going over their government’s head to the world.
      .
The way we access this law is international solidarity.

      1. Regarding Kosovo and Crimea, it was POWER that the Western imperialists were respecting, not Law. If they had the power, they would have taken back Crimea and created their own rationalization to justify it. The US imperialist lackeys have made their own law to militarily invade the Hague were any US functionaries tried under its jurisdiction. Only when the G-192 has the power of universal enforcement will their commitment to rule of law make any difference in Imperial behavior. I’m waiting with bated breath for international solidarity to challenge the Western Empire successfully. How do you challenge crazy people with nukes? M.A.D. is the only thing currently keeping them at bay.

      2. Skip Scott, first you say there’s no effective rule of law. Then when you see rule of law get enforced in Syria and Crimea, you say, that’s not law, that’s power. That cognitive wiggle room you give yourself indicates that there is some residual indoctrination there. It’s ‘realism,’ long discredited in the wider world, renounced in despair by its poster boy Morgenthau. .

We all get this indoctrination: baby’s first IR course recites the slogan ‘ballots v. bullets.’ It’s that crude. The CIA regime has an interest in discrediting rule of law. When they break the law they call it ‘killing two birds with one stone:’ get what you want by force + discredit universal-jurisdiction law.

Friendly African and Chinese cops have sticks. Does that mean they’re not enforcing laws? OJ and Michael Jackson got away with it. Does that mean murder and child-molest statutes are bullshit? .

Incidentally, M.A.D. is not the only thing. The SCO’s missile gap gives them precise control over escalation. That was how they bottled the US up in Syria. Also, Russia’s defense industrial base is superior to the US. You can’t win by spending ten times as much and pissing away 95% of it. Also, defense is easier, given balanced force ratios, as any Lanchester model will tell you. Be happy, there’s a new sheriff in town.

        1. The rule of law “enforced” in Crimea and Syria implies superior “power” to allow enforcement in those particular cases. The empire did not back down out of respect for the law. Where’s the wiggle? I do not know what SCO’s stands for and have not read Morgentheau. I also don’t know what an IR course is. Does that make me stupid?

I agree with your last paragraph. However, I do not know what a Lanchester model is. I would not say we have any sheriff, at least not one enforcing international law on Empire to any serious extent as long their attempts at global hegemony continues.

I do not believe laws are bullshit. I believe they are prosecuted unevenly, not universally. I certainly wish it was not so. I would love to see universal law jurisdiction successfully applied.

      3. Thanks for the great comment. I’m not as well-read on this subject as you appear to be, but I found DRG’s *The American Trajectory: Divine or Demonic* to be a fascinating read. The title bothered me initially for reasons that we might share. Here’s just a snippet: “Criticism of the UN as an ineffective organization has been common in the US, especially so in recent years. Most of this criticism implies that the problem is rooted in the UN’s personnel–that they are failing to apply the resources at their disposal effectively. The UN’s ineffectiveness in maintaining peace and curtailing imperialism is tooted, however, primarily in the UN charter. It is ineffective primarily because it was intended to be so by its architects, the primary architect having been the United States itself” (173). He goes on the argue that, “Because the three Great Powers decided to retain the anarchical order, so as to be able to continue to use their power to advance their individual interests, the world reaped: (1) The Cold War; (2) a nuclear arms race that could easily have resulted in nuclear extinction, and still may; (3) dozens of hot wars, bringing unspeakable suffering in many countries, including Korea, Vietnam, Central America, Serbia, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria; (4) the US drive to replace global anarchy with the tyranny of a global American empire; (5) a global ecological crisis, especially global climate change, which if it continues will bring civilization to an end” (180).

        1. Ha, yeah, Andy, there’s another very entertaining book about how the US did its level best to fuck up the UN: Hazzard, Shirley, Countenance of Truth. The sicced the FBI on everybody in the Secretariat; they hired cringing worm Trygve Lie just so they could push him around; they even put a Nazi in there as SecGen [oh and first they shot Lie’s competent successor Dag Hammarskjöld out of the sky.]

So they have pretty much succeed in corrupting the Secretariat. They also corrupted WHO and the OPCW pretty good. But they ran from ECOSOC and so failed to wreck it. They never got the UNGA under control. They got themselves kicked off the Human Rights Commission, which reorganized itself without them. The treaty bodies give the US fits. They tried with mixed success to end-run UNCTAD. UNESCO is a maddening thorn in their side. So there are UN agencies and UN agencies.

  21. Critical thought has become anathema to the public at large. They are sheep dipped in propaganda and completely hypnotized by their TVs. As Neil Postman wisely put it, they are amusing themselves to death. They are not evil themselves, in fact most are very kind in their personal relationships.
I have been enduring some very puzzled looks from my “leftist” friends for questioning the COVID narrative and refusing the Fauci poke. I have forwarded articles and videos by very qualified pathologists showing prophylactic measures and therapies that cure COVID, and suddenly I’m seen as a closet “Trumper.” It is very lonely to be an independent minded, thinking person in today’s world. Here is Dr. Ryan Cole on COVID

    https://www.globalresearch.ca/dr-ryan-cole-blows-whole-covid-19-propaganda-away/5742079

  22. You’re absolutely spot-on Mr. Curtin. There is resistance and folks such as yourself and many others are fighting to wake people up. Chelsea Green has just published this powerful new book by Dr. Joseph Mercola and Ronnie Cummins, which is in my opinion one of the best educational resources available in providing facts to counter the massive psy-op that continues taking place https://www.chelseagreen.com/product/the-truth-about-covid-19/

  23. I agree with what is said here by everyone. I can’t add anything more for I’d prefer to use 4 letter words to discuss the barbarians, the parasites, the sadists, the liars living off the backs of citizens and other beings.

  24. Resist, indeed. I got one of those OBEY shirts and have been wearing it. People look at me weird but then probably think, “well, at least he’s helping stop the spread.” I kind of wish it said, “OBEY AT ALL COSTS!”
Yes, it’s very difficult to wake up. I like Richard Gage’s story of naivety with the founding of AE911 Truth. He said, (paraphrasing) “Once I processed the data, I couldn’t believe it! Now, I just had to do the easy part and tell everybody!”
One problem is our education system. My knowledge of American History in high school was that the cotton gin was important. or the cotton gin cured slavery? something to do with the cotton gin. Why did I never hear of the Red Terror, or the Lusitania, or Gulf of Tonkin, or the USS Liberty…or maybe going into World History, Pope Sylvester II, who discovered the true date of Easter with the help of al-gebra from the Cordoba Muslims. That would have been cool to learn in high school. Nope. Just Hitler bad, Roosevelt good, CIA bad-but-protects-us-so-it’s-ok. And something about a cotton gin.
Thanks for the work you do. I check several times a day to see if you’ve posted something.

  25. “to believe that one’s own leaders are evil is next to impossible for many to accept because it suggests that the rational façade of society is a cover for sinister forces . . ” – As I’ve contemplated these same questions over many decades, I’ve come to this very same conclusion Ed.

I think also that since most people are in fact not psychopaths or completely amoral, it is actually quite hard for them to really imagine that our leadership could be filled with people capable of limitless brutality and murder.

People can much more easily imagine the existence of the individual criminal serial murderer, now safely locked behind bars, than they can accept that the entire hierarchy’s of our military, intelligence agencies and state department are filled with thousands of the kinds of amoral soul-less functionaries that once insured the Third Reich ran smoothly, and who today can literally justify the deaths of a half-a-million Iraqi children as – “worth it” – without batting an eye or shedding a single human tear.

What greater evil could we ever face in our life-times than our own American and Western oligarchic class, and their many functionaries from the media, to the political class, to all of our completely corrupt, violent and militarized institutional structures? “Evil” is truly the appropriate word Ed. Thanks for another breath of sanity.

  26. Thank you, thank you. Your words so inspire me to continue on the often lonely road of resistence.

  27. You touched on it, but I think that projection is important in the current COVID fraud. The level of sociopathy and, frankly, evil on display is rightly frightening. Most people, rather than see it directly, will then displace or project that same level of fear onto anything else — the “virus” or, particularly, anyone who tries to warn them. So the sheep are kept in line for the shearing. And, if it’s not stopped, they’ll drag everyone else down with them.
